What materials is your jewellery made from?
Every piece is handcrafted from premium materials — hallmarked 925 sterling silver, durable 316L stainless steel, 18k gold and rhodium — chosen to be worn every day and to last a lifetime.
Is your jewellery hypoallergenic?
Yes. We use skin-friendly metals throughout — 316L stainless steel, rhodium, 925 sterling silver and 18k gold — so our jewellery is hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin.
What should I do if my item is faulty?
In the unlikely event that your item has some fault or damage you should contact us via email explaining the issue and attach photos we will then assess the fault/damage and contact you with a resolution.
Will it tarnish, rust or mark my skin?
Our stainless steel, rhodium and gold pieces are tarnish- and rust-resistant, and won’t discolour your skin or mark your clothing with normal wear. Sterling silver can develop a natural patina over time, but this is easily polished back to its original shine.
Can I wear my jewellery in the shower or while swimming?
Our pieces are water-safe for everyday contact like washing your hands or getting caught in the rain. We’d still recommend removing jewellery before swimming, as chlorine and salt water can affect any metal over time.
How should I care for my jewellery?
Store each piece somewhere dry, ideally in the pouch or box it arrived in, and avoid contact with perfumes and lotions. To clean, gently buff with a soft cloth. With a little care, your jewellery will keep its finish for years.
How do I find my ring size?
Our men’s ring size guide walks you through measuring at home and includes a UK, US and EU conversion chart. If you’re buying a surprise gift and aren’t sure, just get in touch and we’ll help.
Does my order arrive gift-ready?
Yes. Every piece arrives carefully packaged and ready to give, so it makes a perfect gift straight out of the box.
Is your jewellery handmade, and where is it made?
Yes — Illicium is a London-born brand, and every piece is handcrafted from premium materials, designed in-house and made to last.
Do you offer bespoke or custom pieces?
We do. Through our bespoke service you can work with our team to design a one-of-a-kind custom piece — see the page for how it works and to start your commission.
Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayPal, Klarna, Afterpay, and all major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro — processed securely through Stripe.
Are my payment details kept private?
At Illicium we treat all of the information shared with us as private and confidential. For further information on the privacy of your information, please check our Privacy policy here.
Why haven't I received a payment/order confirmation email?
Occasionally the order/payment confirmation emails can filter into spam/junk folders, please double check these. That failing you can contact us and we’ll resend it or alternatively you can track your order via the ‘my account’ section on the website.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. You can spread the cost at checkout with Klarna or Afterpay, subject to their approval — so you can pay over time rather than all at once.
What currency can I pay in?
You can shop in GBP, EUR or USD — just choose your currency using the selector at the top of the page.
Is VAT included, and will I pay any taxes?
UK prices include VAT. For international orders, any import duties or taxes are set by the destination country and may be payable on delivery (see Delivery below).
Delivery
How much is delivery?
Standard UK delivery is completely free. Express next-day UK delivery is £4.99. For international orders, we charge a flat £4.99 for standard shipping.
When will my order be dispatched?
Your order is dispatched the next working day after it’s placed.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Once dispatched, estimated delivery times are:
- UK — standard 2–4 working days; express next working day
- US — standard 5–7 working days; express 2–3 working days
- Europe & rest of world — standard 7–14 days; express 2–4 working days
I need to receive my item quickly, do you offer express delivery?
Yes we do! Express delivery means you can get your item in as soon as 1 day. More details can be found here.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes — we ship internationally, with a flat £4.99 standard shipping rate for orders outside the UK.
Will I have to pay customs or import duties?
For orders outside the UK, any customs charges or import taxes are determined by your country and may be payable on delivery. These aren’t included in our prices or shipping costs.
How do I track my order?
You can track your order via the order tab in the ‘my account‘ section of the website.
What happens if I miss the delivery?
You will receive contact directly from the courier with updates and alternative delivery options. Simply look out for emails or notes through your letter box from the courier to re-arrange delivery at a convenient time for you.
I haven't received a dispatch email?
The item may not have been dispatched yet, otherwise the email may be in your spam or junk folders. Alternatively you can track your order and check for updates via the order tab in the ‘my account‘ section of the website.
Returns
What is the Illicium return policy?
If you are not satisfied with your order, you have 30 days from the purchase date to return it for a full refund. Further details on our return and exchange policy can be found here.
How do I return an item?
If you wish to return an item contact us at [email protected] to start the exchange or return process. Include your order number and whether you would like a return or exchange. If you are a UK or EU customer we will then send you a free return label. Further details can be found here.
How long do refunds take?
Once we’ve received and checked your returned item, we’ll refund your original payment method as quickly as possible — usually within 2 working days.
Do I need to pay for shipping to return an item?
If you are a UK or EU customer then no! We’ll take care of the return shipping. For rest of world customers unfortunately we can not cover return shipping.
Can I exchange an item instead?
Yes. Get in touch within 30 days and we’ll happily arrange an exchange for a different piece or size.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — every piece of Illicium jewellery is covered by our lifetime warranty. It covers repairs or replacements for any functional damage — anything that prevents a piece from being worn as intended, such as issues with the metalwork, clasps and fastenings, chain links, hinges or stone settings. It does not cover the natural ageing of materials or normal wear and tear. Simply email us with detailed photos and we’ll assess the piece and agree the best resolution with you.
